Not sure how they would respond. The bus is basicly a detour off the Limerick - Shannon route a few times a day* Even if they add more services they can't avoid the railway bridges and slow journey time.

*I have not looked at the timetable recently but it was always sh1te.

I Rang Ennis train station there and they gave me the following train fares from Sixmilebridge railway station:

Sixmilebridge-Ennis
Single -7.00 Euros
Day Return- 9.50 Euros

Sixmilebridge-Limerick
Single-7.00 Euros
Day Return- 9.50 Euros

Sixmilebridge-Dublin Heuston
5 day Return-47.00 Euros

Forgot to ask about Sixmilebridge-Galway fares. Station will be open Tuesday morning March the 30th for business.

For anybody who knows it the bus service in SMB is rubbish, as it meanders under many nasty railway bridges. Its also infrequent as most services go Limerick - Shannon direct. The train should be able to hoover up all these passengers if the fares are right, as the service is going to be much more frequent.

Hopefully alot of people from the Similebridge area will use it going to work in Limerick/shopping in Limerick on a saturday and getting a late train at the weekend for going out in Ennis. The bus to Limerick is fairly sh!te so if people don't mind paying more for the more frequent train, then it's all good.

Sixmilebridge actually has a decent service unlike the rest of the new stations, thats the big difference

Indeed, about 10 trains per day is pretty good.

I understand they would need permission.
