Luas-DART Feeder

Does anyone know if there is a feeder bus from any DART station between Bray and, say, Blackrock, to any LUAS Green Line station? Thank you.

There is a bus from Bray to Sandyford Luas run by the local company, Finnegans. I don't think integrated fares are available, but check with them if 10-journey or weekly tickets are available. http://www.finnegan-bray.ie/page11.php

Alternatively, Dublin Bus route 145 will drop you on the N11, a bit away from Sandyford.

The 114 from Blackrock DART station also goes to Sandyford and integrated DART-bus tickets should be available.

Dublin Bus's Network Direct propject will revise a lot of routes, partially to improve connections to Luas and the extension to Cherrywood.

114 Blackrock to Sandyford is the only feeder bus left on the southside. The frequency is useless

17 Dundrum to Blackrock neither fast, frequent or terribly direct

Other options (from mid July 2010 following proposed Dublin Bus changes)
47 serves Sandyford Luas and then Ballsbridge via St Vincents Hospital (change for Sydney Parade)

Once the Cherrywood Luas extension open later in 2010 (assuming Dublin Bus implement changes as proposed)

63 Dun Laoghaire Carrickmines will serve the new Luas station there
84 Bray Cherrywood will serve the new Luas station there
7 Dun Laoghaire Cherrywood will serve the new Luas station there

There exists a rail+bus+luas monthly ticket available only from staffed Irish Rail stations

Slightly outside your parameters but Dublin Bus no. 18 goes from Sandymount and serves Ranelagh and Kylemore tram stops.

[irony] Hush now. Dublin Bus has scientifically calculated the optimum route and frequency for all customers. [/irony]

If this was boards.ie a defender of the status quo would be on shortly ;)

Most Dublin bus routes should be feeders of this type, rather than clogging the city centre while maximising the catchment of the expensive DART and LUAS and soon Metro infrastructure. But that requires integrated ticketing to make it work for the passenger.

This may very well be a good time for Dublin Bus to introduce a feeder bus from the Dalkey/Sandycove/Killiney area to the Cherrywood terminus(That is when it becomes operational). This is a huge gap in the network which needs to be filled in. This would make it a lot easier for people like myself to get to Dundrum and even Rathmines or Ranelagh.

63 Dun Laoghaire Carrickmines Kilternan is proposed under network direct.

Have to give credit to Dublin Bus there is a lot of rail/luas/bus integration going on in there plans

Also Greystones-Cherrywood-UCD with the 84.
