What would Dublin’s public transport system look like, if the shelf full of unimplemented reviews and reports were finally carried out? Public exhibition of a collaboration between Graphic Design MA graduate Aris Venetikidis on public transport maps and James Leahy presenting a visionary public transport network for Dublin.


12. June - 20. June 2010 daily:
Aris Venetikidis public transport maps and information panels will be on display at this year's NCAD Graduate Exhibition from 12 -20. June 2010. Entrance to the degree show is free and the show is open from 10:00-17:00 on Saturdays, 12:00-17:00 on Sundays and 10:00-20:00 on weekdays. (National College of Art & Design, School of Design Building, Ground Floor, 100 Thomas Street, Dublin 8)


12. June 2010 at 2pm:
Public presentation and opening of the week long display of the project. Aris Venetikidis and James Leahy will hold a presentation about the process of designing integrated public transport maps for Dublin and the concept of providing a rapid transit network for Dublin.

The public presentation/talk on this day is free but please RSVP to aris.v at mac.com due to limited space.

This is highly recommend, was at the launch today and the map is stunning.

The level of detail is brilliant and the presentation is world class.

Emm... are ye sure this isn't a fancy roundabout way to promote BRT's (which BTW I not wholly against). The fact that the author went out of their way not to put the Metro lines in the maps makes this nothing more than good old fashion crayonism, no matter how fancy it looks.

Its a design project, not a transport project.

Err...Yep, I've kind of guessed that Colm. :D

I ran into Aris this evening at the Cycle Chic event (Yeah, I went to a fashion show). He had a paper version of the map and it did provoke a good side discussion.

Maybe the author doesn't believe any rail projects in T21 will actually happen?
