14/15 and 21/22 Feb 2009 Disruptions

The IE website has an extensive series of changes and cancellations, affecting lots of Hueston-based services, posted for the next two weekends. I don't doubt the need for these, but a little more notice would help.

Also the very long notice has details for Feb 14, 15 and 22, but there is a blank space whare (I reckon) the heading February 21 should appear. Do they ever proof-read anything?

Just for fun they have mis-spelled Cork as Cdork in one place. I think I know where the Dork is!

Mark Gleeson 10-02-2009 10:32

Its a horribly written notice, is it Cork/Heuston or Cork to Heuston, or Cork to Dublin Heuston, there the wonder of "21.00hrs Heuston to Cork will operate as a bus transfer from to Heuston to Cork."

Just remember on a proper railway they would give 8 weeks notice

So edited version 2 arrives

Still woeful, hard to understand and full of very obvious errors, "14.15 Heuston to Limerick will operate via Nenagh and customers will change trains at Ballybrophy for Heuston." , thats the 14:15 Limerick to Dublin Heuston

Favourite one is this
Quote:

Services to Cork and Kerry will be by train from Heuston to Thurles and by bus from Thurles to Cork. Services for Kerry will also be by train from Heuston to Thurles, by bus from Thurles to Mallow and by train from Mallow to Tralee.

13.00 Heuston to Cork will call additionally at Limerick Junction.
Well all trains up until the 13:30 Cork Dublin and 13:00 Dublin Cork run as normal

So version 3

It keeps changing it appears the 17:25 Dublin Limerick will now actually do the Ballybrophy trickery to make Limerick, no reason other Limerick Dublin services could not do the same,

If there are structural works between Clondalkin and Charleville, why are local Cork-Kerry services suspended?

I wonder if the buses will use the new motorways.

They will; they'll just come off them at every second exit to stop at each gap in the hedge.
