Brian Guckian RIP

I note from Grandeeod on boards.ie that Brian Guckian has died at the age of 42. As Brian was formerly part of Platform 11, it would be a shame if his death was left unmarked here.

I never met Brian but was in touch with him during 2010 regarding the then upcoming suspension of the South Wexford rail service.

He came across to me as a knowledgeable and ambitious individual and his framework for the betterment of transport links for the greater societal and economic good displayed thorough understanding complemented with vision.

I have just been browsing two of his framework proposals regarding Local Lines and the points therein regarding transport issues/policy are as pertinent and pressing now as when the documents were written around a decade ago.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

I didn't know Brian but very sad when a life is cut short at such a young age. R.I.P.
