Last few days

Its been fairly crap on the Dublin Belfast recently

A locomotive failed in Belfast in recent days, the locomotive in question had been fully overhauled in the last 18 months. This locomotive was recovered to Inchicore

No spare locomotive has been available at York Rd for the last few days as a result, the absence of this spare which has been provided for several years means if the locomotive fails there is no fallback and NIR do not have the resources, parts or training to repair a 201 class locomotive

Typically means a 6 coach NIR C3K is used, catering is provided but only in the Dublin end 3 coaches

no airconditioning!

on thursday (16.50) evening there was no airconditioning. the heat on the train was unbearable. With the recent heat, i hope this is not a recurring problem... i don't mind being in a sauna but I don't expect it on a train :p

It seems the Enterprise has gone into total meltdown this week. None of this evenings workings from Dublin were with the DD sets.

The 16:00, 18:00 & 19:00 Connolly to Belfast were worked by C3K or 29K sets.

I guess the DD sets break when it gets to warm.

Surely this cant be just because of the heat?

The word coming through is that there has been a total failure of AC on the entire fleet, once again the shoddy work of York Road maintenance, to lose the AC on 3 servicable sets on the same day is inexplicable

The only serviceable enterprise set today was the Irish Rail provided set.

There is a short enterprise set in service

Normally a total AC failure would be a HEP circuit failure normally that means a locomotive fault but in recent weeks electrical faults with the coaches have surfaced

Its not even that hot by standards its going to get warmer

enterprise back to normal?

or as normal as it can be? strangely enough - Iarnrod Eireann ran a slightly earlier service from Dundalk at 07.50 this morning just ahead of the Enterprise which arrived as normal this morning. There is nothing to indicate any problems today with the Enterprise service. :D
