Meeting about Rosslare Line

There was a meeting last night in the Grand Hotel in Wicklow with Dick Roche (Wicklow TD) attending, discussing the state of the Rosslare line services.

Did anybody from here go to this, or hear if there were any promises made by our politician? I only heard about the meeting while I was on the train home yesterday (10 minutes before the meeting!) so didn't go myself.

there would usually be a press release after something like this.

if you can get a poster/flyer for the meeting could you pass us on the contact details

cheers.

Thank God some TD's are noticing the line and they are not standing for it.
Cant wait to read what the TD his thoughts on Rosslare are....

Be warned politicians can be the absolutely the worst people to get involved, they in the majority are uninformed and nearly always subscribe to the preachings of a certain IE spokesperson

Sadly Irish Rail do there best to give you the feeling you are getting something only for you to end up with less

They can, They are the worst people for promising when they never stick to their word. Its just when a TD gets into stuff like this then everyone takes a notice even when the people have noticed this for long periods of time.
I hope all TD's on all parts of the line take notice of this.
Sadly IE do give a false sense of travel but if all trains were faster then there would'nt be much complaints, IE need to work on reducing times..:(

I was handed a flyer on the train but there are no contact details on it, just telling people where to meet up and why. If I hear anything though I'll post it up here.

Hope the TD raises some good points regards the line.

I spoke yesterday to a lady who attended the meeting.

Turns out that Dick Roche was having a "clinic" at the hotel so some people decided to try to get unhappy train users to go along to air their views. It wasn't specifically a meeting to do with the Rosslare line at all. There wasn't an IE representative there so I doubt anything will really come of it.

in fairness services on the line have increased over the last couple of years and this is likely to continue as new trains come online.

as for improving running times - this doesn't seem to be a priority for irish rail on any of their lines, even the busy ones like Cork and Belfast.

The potential is there already, Even if the journey times gets to 2hr30mins that would be getting there as in "Iarnrod Eireann we are getting there"

Yes it is, I'm glad you see it to, And I'm sure there are many others.
2hr30mins would be good but until next year we have to suffer:( :(
