i remember sitting across from a senior irish rail managment figure at a meeting a good few years ago being told that when the 4 tracking was done we would have amazing flexibility and availability, in tandem with the new railcars. We had years of promises of trains every two hours from Galway, Limerick, Waterford, a train every hour from Cork, commuter trains every hour from Newbridge. Oh, it was going to be so wonderful.
