The speeds are unbelievable really.

Aside from the 2 hours to get from Limerick to Galway, I've long thought that to be a success it would need to be part of a Galway-Limerick-Cork or Galway-Limerick-Waterford route. But the best times offered on these routes are 3 3/4 hours and 5 hours respectively. Both also involve 2 changes of train.

Between the speed and the lack of connectivity, you could get the impression that someone wants it to fail.
