I'd be interested to hear what loads are like on the Thurles 0735 commuter. It's one of the few routes where even though the rail route is longer the road alternative is so poor/crosscountry that it should be doing well - probably why IE started it in the first place.

Incidentally, where does that train come from? If it's an extension of the 0640 Limerick-Limerick Junction running behind the 0712 departure from the Junction to Heuston (originally 0615 Cork) then people could get from Cork/Mallow to Thurles early without having to get the 0505 or wait for the 0715 and there might even be a trickle of Limerick-Thurles trade that fancied an extra 20 minutes in bed - is there something I'm not seeing there? A long term intent to start that train from Portlaoise perhaps?
