Christmas shoppers in Co Galway have a great value Park and Ride service this year at Athenry Station, jointly offered by Galway City Council and Iarnród Éireann.
Running from Wednesday 3rd December to Wednesday 24th December, a Special Day Return Fare of €6.00 per Adult / Student and €4.00 per Child (under 16 years) will apply for the period of the promotion, covering parking and train travel.
These Special Fares applies to all services seven days a week during this promotion.
In addition, the 12.10hrs Heuston to Galway Sunday service will additionally call at Athenry at 14.24hrs.

looks like a good development - anecdotally i would have noticed an increase in people using the train to go to galway from athenry over the last few years.
