While the Kildare side crossover at Sallins was moved to a point west of the station as part of the KRP re-signalling it is still not possible for a country-bound train to pass through Sallins while a train travelling in the same direction is standing on the Dublin-bound platform. Exactly the same arrangement applies at Portlaoise, except that the discussion applies to Dublin-bound trains.
