The Sligo Lord Mayor may have a valid point about safety, I would prefer to take my chance in one of the MkII type carriages with slam doors not electronically controlled - carriages not full of electrical gear and underfloor motors etc, etc...
Anyway a three hour delay is completely unacceptable - how many of these passengers will never take the train again and how many others will they recount their tales of woe to? Barry Kenny spin your way out of this one.
PS Also with older stock it was possible to open windows for air, not like the hermetically sealed sardine cans (MkIVs, 22000s etc).
