Dont get me started on that lot in there! just spent a week in england on a britrail pass.....all very nice except for the hassle i kept getting off various ticket checkers. Abbey street told me they cant issue britrail passes any more but they could give me a voucher that i could exchange in england for a real britrail pass. All very well but for one minor problem........

Britrail passes cant be issued in england for the simple reason that you cant buy them there so they dont have the necessary equipment. I suspected this at the time of purchase and even mentioned it to the girl at the counter but she said theyd been doing it for 4 years it should be fine.

Obviously it wasnt as i found at 8am in leeds station the morning after the staff there had a long confused confusion when i presented my voucher. Theyre solution was that i just used my voucher as a pass (complete with "not valid for travel" stamped on it) and hope for the best. So thats what i did....resulting in the aforementioned ticket checker hassle and other fun events.

Ok rant over il just go back to using the BTA office like ive always done at least they know what theyre talking about!
