The issue here points to the training/equipment the ambulance crew had

1. The wheelchair turnstile is more than wide enough to wheel a stretcher through

2. The lifts are sized in line with accessibility requirements, so this begs the question if this crew were faced with a high rise building how they would extract the patient


Irish Rail signalling procedures are very clear if the emergency services want the line closed, they get it and it should be possible to hand over the track within 5 minutes.


The only concern is if the issue was known before arrival at Hazelhatch the train could have been routed to up fast platform.
