Default Changes to Train Station Car Park Charges from Monday 15th July

Linky

Quote:
09 July 2013
Customers please be advised that there will be changes to daily car park charges at train stations from Monday 15th July next.

Daily charges will increase from €3 to €4 when paying in cash at the machine at the station and daily ParkbyText charges will increase from €2 to €3. Weekly and Monthly charges will not increase. Full details of new rates from 15th July 2013 are available here

Regular commuters will not be affected by these changes as monthly and weekly tickets remain unchanged. The cheapest way to pay for car parking is by ParkbyText for daily, weekly & monthly customers.

Customers can also open a ParkByText account, with added benefits including:

- Shorter and simpler payment process (An account holder is only required to send a short text message to complete payment whereas an unregistered user needs to send a similar text message followed by providing their credit card details to a voicemail phone number)

- Account holders have the option to receive text messages and/or emails with updates on special parking offers and system enhancements

- Account holders can select a free option of automatic top up to their account balance ensuring that they always have funds set aside for their parking charges

A 50 cent monthly account maintenance charge applies to customers choosing this option.

Does this have any impact on charges in more expensive stations like Heuston and Cork?

Default Introduction of Car Park charges to Ballybrophy Station

I've just heard that car parking charges are to be introduced at Ballybrophy train station. Has anyone else heard this news/rumour? Ballybrophy station is one of the few stations that (until now) doesn't charge its customers and nor should it. If you are like me and availing of the taxsaver.ie ticket to get to work in Dublin, I don't want to have to pay an additional charge on top of my E3400 annual train ticket.
