Default Ink in Ticket Machines

I have just printed off a one-way ticket for future Intercity travel at a ticket machine.

There is a white band across the ticket half way down where nothing has printed. Everything below about the top 25% of the word "Outward" and above the time of departure is missing. No date of departure is shown - I'm not sure what else is missing, but I had also booked a bike - I'm not sure if this is supposed to be shown on the ticket or not.

I guess I will now have to print out the emailed booking as well now and hold this is as well on my journey.

It's hardly the first time that information has been missing on tickets I have printed.

Do Irish Rail do checks on ticket legibility from machines?
Is it now time to fully accept emailed tickets on board if all information isn't displayed on tickets?
