Default Irish Rail student offer

In certain circumstances, this offer may not suit all users, e.g. if you have a placement during the college year or have extensive time off when you won't be travelling.

Also consider other trips that you make that these ticket won't apply to, e.g. if you get a bus or tram after your rail trip or if you make other rail journeys, might it be better value to go get your ticket such that it covers all your expected trips.

Note that buying this today will get you to the end of May (for the price of end of April). You will then have to get individual/weekly/monthly tickets. If buying, consider having it so that it activates when any existing tickets expire.

Not exactly; it's calendar months only so you get October to May inclusive.

I miscalculated my months, corrected above.

Given that many students have extended breaks during the year (althought hey might be making other trips anyway) and may have less need to travel in April-May, this isn't actually great value.

Indeed. And I think the front-page of their website might interest the ASAI; you're not allowed to advertise things as "free" without a "terms and conditions" if there is any cost more than P&P or any requirement for additional purchases.

Hmm really not sure this is much of an offer to be honest. Is there not a railcard system on offer for students like in the UK? Far more appealing to have consistent discounted prices than this "binge" offer system.
