[27/02/2012] 07.40 Waterford-Heuston Delayed - Bus Transfer
Train has terminated in Kilkenny due to mechanical fault. (Twitter Page) Bus transfers. Normally the train can be split in half but not on Mondays.
However since that tweet the Real Time says train has dapearted Muine Beag and is running 38 mins late. Last edited by Jamie2k9 : 27-02-2012 at 09:22. |

As far as I know the 07.20 to Waterford operated as a bus transfer between Kilkenny-Waterford and that train operated the delayed 07.40. 07.10 also was delayed by signal fault but most of time was made up.

The bus transfers on services when on until mid afternoon. A complete mess from Irish Rail yet again. A train fault in Kilkenny no trains ran between Kilkenny-Waterford for hours. Complete lack of info from IR on there website and twitter pages. They wanted to have trains to operate the peak services that evening. Yet they have plenty of new trains sitting in Dublin doing nothing. Last bus transfer I know of was the 13.10 from Dublin and I can only prosume the 16.50 from Waterford to Kilkenny.
An loco should of being dispashed from Waterford to haul the train to Dublin or Portlaois to be repaired. There was no reaosn to have all these bus transfers. When they have plans in place to deal with suitations like this and get the trains moved A.S.A.P. |
