That depends

Note however the price if booked on the day to Cork/Tralee is now 39.99 where it was 37.00. In some cases these fares are actually an increase as on Westport and Waterford you could get 10 euro on many trains without need to book in advance

Its part of an education process to get people to book ahead

Fares apply on all radial routes, so Kildare - Mallow for instance is offered a lower fare

yet they should be encouraging passengers on Cork/Limerick & Cork/Galway by discounting

Heuston-Cork open return is €77.00, but if you book in the sale it would appear to be €79.98 (€39.99x2). I realise it's an odd combination.

I think that when you go to book it will cap it at €71

Given it has already been extended once it is clearly doing well.

Irish Rail has changed its play book on ticketing this year so expect more sense and value to filter through

God above. "If you can't do everything, you can't do anything". What would "encourage passengers on Cork/Galway is having more than one trip under 4hrs, and that one requiring 2 changes.

It's a funny sort of sale that has prices increasing. Cork-Dublin price range has gone from €10-€37 up to €19.99-€39.99 each way. One complaint to the ASAI coming up shortly.

Thurles, Portlaoise, Limerick Junction (though many people around that part can't get broadband anyway) etc are left out of any advertising again. Seems stupid not mentioning every station the promotions are available at.

Ball park I'm guessing something like 70 odd stations are included in the offer

At least each service to Waterford anyway has at least 4 carrages for sale online and not 1 for most as before.

17.35 on Saturdays appears to be a 6 car again as 4 carrages are for sale online and if so it will sort out the 07.10 on Mondays.

I think long term the 9.99 fares are a good way to get passengers to use the service again and see its good except for some travel time but with 9.99 you can't go wrong. Time will tell if it pays off which I think it will.
