Easter Weekend Service Arrangements 3rd- 6th April

31 March 2015

Customers are advised to check times before travelling.

Customers travelling over the Easter Bank Holiday Weekend are advised to check times before travelling, through the journey planner above or go to our timetable section.

Friday 3rd April
In particular, customers should note on Good Friday, there are service changes on many routes, including a Saturday service on DART, Maynooth, Drogheda and Cork commuter routes. Customers are advised to check times before travelling.

Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th April
We have commenced a programme of line improvement works on the Dublin to Cork line, which will lead to higher reliability, smoother running of trains and with other works deliver consistent 160kph speeds (100 mph) by the end of 2016 on this route. This will deliver journey time improvements for customers.

To facilitate these works, there will be service changes on a number of routes;

Services between Cork and Dublin will operate every two hours in each direction, with higher capacity on services.
Limerick services will operate every two hours, connecting to and from all Cork services at Limerick Junction.
Tralee services will operate every two hours, connecting to and from all Cork services at Mallow.
Services between Galway and Dublin will operate every two hours in each direction, with higher capacity on services – this will result in seven services each way between Galway and Dublin on these dates instead of nine.
Westport services will connect to and from Galway trains at Athlone, with no change to the frequency of services.
Services between Waterford and Dublin will operate with bus transfers between Athy and Dublin in both directions.

Customers are advised to check times before travelling.
For further information on the line improvement works go to http://www.irishrail.ie/news/corklineimprovementworks

Intercity, DART, Commuter and Enterprise Connolly Station routes on Easter Sunday will operate to a Sunday schedule, with some alterations to Sligo/Connolly services.

Monday 6th April
There will be alterations to normal schedules on all routes. Customers are advised to check times before travelling. DART, Northern Commuter, and Maynooth/M3 Commuter will operate to a Sunday schedule.

Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail apologise for the inconvenience caused by these necessary works.
