Default Smart and not-so-smart cards......

Now that the Dublin Bus roll-out of its smart card is well and truly underway its time to give a wee heads-up.

If you have a Luas and Dublin Bus Smart Card together in the same wallet/purse the Dublin Bus Smart Card Reader (SCR) will give a bad read signal. (5 beeps)

So ignore what they tell you about simply waving ur piece .......remove it before boarding and CHECK that you get the good-read signal (1 Long Beep)

The same problem appears in the reverse scenario....Bus vs Luas at platform reader......

Little wonder the project has cost €30 Million plus..........

Default

If two or more smart cards are detected with the public transport ticket id it won't play ball

Of course if you had a mortons and luas same thing would happen I presume, we will never be able to try, that is unforgivable as they where run by the same outfit
