Default [19/05/2014] Points failure Howth Junction evening peak

30 min delays to all northbound and southbound Darts, Drogheda and Belfast trains. Still impacting services 1 hour later. Began 16.30.

Disruption started around 1530 when all services through Howth Junction were halted for around thirty minutes due to another points failure. Subsequent signalling problems meant that southbound trains were being stopped and delayed immediately south of Howth Junction resulting with consequent delays of up to 40 minutes to some services.

Ironically the biggest impact was on the southside as apart from the initial delay northbound trains were able to proceed normally.
