The Summer Sensational is a new summer celebration in the city and is brought to you by Temple Bar Cultural Trust in partnership with 15 Cultural Organisations throughout Temple Bar.

This age friendly festival will be bursting with exciting events for you, your family and friends to participate in and enjoy. Whatever the weather, Temple Bar will be warm and welcoming - enjoy all that the city's vibrant cultural centre has to offer and experience culture in every sense!

The festival will feature special workshops for children including Feast for the Senses, in association with The Ark, A Cultural Centre for Children, special visual arts workshops where the five senses – taste, touch, sight, sound and smell – will be explored.

Temple Bar Cultural Trust is linking up with the Irish Film Institute for their annual IFI Family Festival. Families will enjoy exclusive screenings of family classics, new releases, animation workshops and a special outdoor family screening of Ireland’s Oscar-nominated, The Secret of Kells under the stars on Meeting House Square. The Summer Sensational also promises lots of fun for adults with the return of the hugely popular Movies on the Square with Dirty Dancing (1987), Jaws (1975) and Stand by Me (1986).

Other highlights for children and families include Rattle & Roll Club - a dance extravaganza for 3-8yrs old, the action packed award winning street theatre show Cliffhanger and the hilarious walking tour Colin Farrelly’s Tour of the Temple. If walking tours are not your thing, why not join Galway girl, Julie Feeney, when she takes to the stage of Meeting House Square for an extra special free outdoor performance.

On Sunday 11th July, grab your picnic blanket and bring your family and friends down to Meeting House Square for Summer Sunday On The Square. Pick your spot on the grass, as Meeting House Square will be transformed into a green city oasis for a jammed packed day of free entertainment including performances from Dublin Gospel Choir and Ottoni Brass Ensemble, Leprechaun Storytelling, street theatre and more!’

Most events are free, some are ticketed and a few have admission charges. For more detailed information and booking details see www.templebar.ie
