VAT Reduction on Rail Catering
Does anyone know if the VAT reduction applies to food and drink sold on trains?
Because it would seem it hasn't been applied. |

VAT onboard trains was always a higher rate than the normal rate in shops/restaurants.
In that case I don't think reduction applies to rail catering (or indeed inflight catering)

Should affect intercity but not Enterprise, as there is an exemption for food and drink served on international public transport for immediate consumption.

Rather. Last I checked the plastic sandwiches were going for €4.99 which is nothing short of absurd.
