Default 2007 Timetable booklet as hard to get as Harry Potter 7

One of Irish Rail's great traditions continues.

Looking for the timetable booklet(s) has always been an interesting pursuit - ranging from booking office staff asking "which line do you want" through "Its (insert price) you know" and what not.

At Pearse today a checker overhearing me asking the booking office clerk for a copy of the book loudly interrupted with "Its still the current timetable today".

A very helpful lady at Connolly tried to get a copy for me and advised me to come back later - which I did. No joy.

I'll let you know how I get on here during the week.

The timetables where shipped by Fastrack on Friday morning. They arrived Heuston 8:30 am ish.

Pearse has approx 20 boxes behind the ticket counter, they are it I think. But the clerk wouldn't sell one

Watch this space, almost certain we will have one before IE sell one over a counter

The 2007 timetables are online on the irish rail website in pdf format. Click on the printed timetables option and click the link for 2007 timetables at the bottom of the page.

Full DART table is not available as a PDF anymore

I'm informed that a copy of the 2007 tt has been located in the wild, more as we have it

Well done folks at Heuston.

A sign at the information desk directs intending purchasers of the book to the ticket office, where copies are available at last year's price of €2 each.

Job done.

What odds I won't be able to purchase a copy elsewhere today ??

18:30 yesterday was the time we 'found' a copy through alternative channels. We seem to get most things through 'alternate' channels such as the new DART map http://www.platform11.org/images/july2006_draft_map.jpg a full 4 months before it appeared in public

I went into Bray station last week on Tuesday (02/01/07) and asked for a timetable. Girl behind the desk said that they didn't have them when I asked when they would, she said at the end of the month!

Hm. The PDF copies don't have a copyright notice. Any P11er with a colour printer could be outside Bray station - "get your IE timetable, they won't have them inside for a month!"

Bet Bray would have copies the following day.

The host on the 5:30 Cork-Dub this morning reminded passengers that a new timetable comes in to effect from 14th Jan.
Didn't say where to get one, which probably would've been a good idea.

Am I missing something?
Why do you need a book when you can check it online or get the section for whatever route you are going on?
You're all treewasters

Whats this about buying timetable booklets?

The full book is €2, its also the only way to get the full DART timetable since the PDF version is not available nor is it available printed in the small booklets
