DART services suspended Bray to Greystones due to lightning damage; train services suspended Maynooth/M3 to Clonsilla due to signal fault.
25 July 2013

Due to lightning damage to overhead lines, DART services are currently suspended between Bray and Greystones.

Dublin Bus will accept rail tickets to/from Greystones.

Rosslare and Commuter services are operating fully.

This disruption is expected to continue for most of the day as repair works take place.

Separately, due to a signal fault, train services are suspended between Maynooth and Clonsilla, and between M3 Parkway and Clonsilla at present. Dublin Bus will accept rail tickets. Delays to Sligo and Longford services will also result.

Iarnród Éireann apologises for the inconvenience caused.

I had a nice tour of Kildare on the 67 bus route after the early Sligo service terminated in Maynooth. It's years since I've been in Celbridge.

Irish Rail had nobody on the ramp at Maynooth telling people what to do. But a helpful Metro Herald person sent us the wrong way so there was about 150 people waiting for the 67 instead.

I can only assume that shuttle buses were provided as there would have been about 400 people on the train and there were a lot fewer at our stop.

Anyway, still no sign of a resolution on either option. It will be interesting to keep any eye on the reliability figure for this month.
