Default [2-7-2009] eagles concert at RDS last night

Heard from a friend last night that the concert ran late last night.

On arrival back last night alot of passengers were shocked to find that the last trains to maynooth and dundalk were gone as were in most cases the last buses and that with no nitelink buses running last night there was little choice but to get a taxi.

Roll on complaints

Because I don't live in Ireland, I feel a bit... unqualified to say this, but it does feel like Irish Rail haven't woken up to what travellers are looking for and need.

Surely, for something like a concert, some bright thing at IE should be making sure that there are trains running to coincide with events in Dublin?

They sometimes but on extra trains but sometimes the trains leave as per schedule instead of leaving when the people get out of concerts.

What part of IR is the problem I can't say. Driver wont wait cause he due to leave at x time or IR just let the train leave as per time.

They also put these extra trains on but only tell the drivers and not the passengers

There's an all-night bus to Dundalk, kind of.

But as always, lack of joined-up thinking at IÉ.
