Default Enterprise ticket to Pearse Street

Occasionally on the Enterprise when approaching Dublin Connolly the train manager announces that
"your enterprise ticket is valid for onward travel on the Dart to Tara and Pearse"
I can't find that in writing anywhere on the Translink or Irish Rail Websites.
I don't suppose it is documented anywhere?

When I buy a ticket in Newry, it says to "Dublin CIV"
I have not been to Pearse in a while but I remember it has ticket barriers on the way out.
If I were to get off the Enterprise in Connolly and get a Dart to Pearse,
I assume to get out of the station I am going to have to show the ticket to someone in order for them to let me through the barriers.

Does anyone have experience of that?
Is there always someone at the ticket barrier?
Are they likely to look twice at a NI Railways ticket from Newry?
Or might I have to explain that they said on the Enterprise I could use it?
I'd feel better if I had it in writing.

Its on NI Railways timetable. Staff in Pearse should be aware and if not I wouldn't worry about producing something in writing. Explain it and if they take issue tell them check with a manager. Barriers probably will not accept any ticket that is not an Irish Rail one. They are always staffed and if not one will be left open.

As you know the same is valid at Belfast end.

I'm pretty sure that when we went to Titanic station a couple of years ago, our Belfast ticket was fine. It sounds familiar that the same was true as far as Pearse in the opposite direction.

Yeah valid between Central and G Victoria Street which includes Botanic and City Hospital or Metro Bus and Glider.

Many NI passengers wrongly assume there tickets are valid on Luas which suits people better but as IE or NIR offer service either end for free NIR have no incentive to agree a deal with Luas.

Default Thanks

That's great thanks.

It is indeed on the NI Railways Belfast - Dublin timetable.

It says

"Free travel to and from Dublin City Centre. Passengers with a valid Enterprise ticket can travel free between Connolly Station and Tara Street/ Pearce Stations."

I'll keep a copy of the timetable on my phone.
