Default Hottest day of the year- and the heating on!

I was on the 16:18 from Connolly to Maynooth today, the hottest day of the year.

The heating was turned on full! When the doors opened to get on, I felt the blast of hot air.

It's not great for the environment, the customers, or the company's finances. Although, If they have the money to burn I guess it's ok.

Are you sure the heat was on or was it just that the aircon wasn't working.

I've noticed the odd 22K car with no air conditioning over the last week. Generally it will only be one car out of a set so if you try another car it will generally be cooler.

No, the heating was definitely on. The heater running along the floor underneath the windows was too hot to touch, and it wasn't in direct sunlight.

I don't know if the aircon was on, but I'd imagine the onboard systems wouldn't let both the heating and aircon operate at the same time.

Well if this is the case, that's beyond not being great for the customers. It is forecast to get to 29 degrees today and running packed commuter trains with heating on would end up being defined as negligence if a passenger collapsed due to the heat.
