Default 5000 series

I noticed two of the new 5000 series trams on the Green line this morning. I wasn't on them but the new displays on the front are a lot brighter which isn't an issue now but probably will be when the new extensions open. The extra length should help ease the crowding in the mornings too.

They where on test last week.

Look a bit strange, but extra capacity is welcome. Red line will be taking delivery of some 4000 series units from Sandyford in coming weeks, so watch out on the M50 at night

Good displays are important for people with poor sight. While of less relevance to Luas until The Point opens, with Dublin Bus many people can see the bus, but not make out the number / destination until too late.

The orange LED signs are the best in use with Dublin Bus. Many of the older non-LED signs are losing the yellow paint and becoming blurred.
