As a former user of the 114, unless it actually has increased in frequency, this announcement is about as useful as saying that in the unlikely event of a 114 showing up, it will be accessible.

I have mostly given up on this bus route. given the gaps on this bus service i now take the 16 bus to kingston, walk through kingston up over the m50 bridge and in at ticknock hill. Depending on the time of day i might have take the bus to blackrock but now that im back in college i am not out there much to do it.

Id go as far though to say that if there is a next sound of cuts this route will be for the chop. So its good to have an alternative !

Agreed. It had potential to be very a very useful link between the Dart and Sandyford but there you go...

I remember the days in the mid 1990's of the 8:15 departure from Blackrock being so full that passengers sat on the ledge behind the windscreen, best part of 100 people managed to wedge on.

It just goes to show what is so wrong in transport in this country, the concept of integration and public service don't come into it. In any sane country the 114 would be a key service, linking DART, Green Luas, Stillorgan QBC and Sandyford Industrial Estate
