Quote:
Bus Transfers between Arklow and Gorey Saturday 14th November. by Corporate Communications

Iarnród Éireann advises passengers that due to a minor landslip between Arklow and Gorey and in order to facilitate repair work on the area, the following service arrangements will be in place on Saturday 14th November 2009:

11.35hrs Connolly to Gorey service will operate to Arklow only, with bus transfer from Arklow to Gorey.

14.48 Gorey to Maynooth service will be a bus transfer from Gorey to Arklow and train from Arklow to Connolly.

Iarnród Éireann apologises for any inconvenience caused.
Given the emgerency nature of the works, we won't be complaining too much about the short notice

What about the 13.05 Connolly-Rosslare service and the 14.05 Gorey ex Rosslare service which is only 43mins before the 14.48 Gorey-Maynooth.

Should be fine, there is a large gap in train movements in the morning after the morning Dublin Rosslare and morning Rosslare Dublin pass giving several hours infact to do the job

Clear from 9:20 till 14:30. If the Dublin - Gorey train ran it would only be till 13:15.

If the work is completed in time the train will run

If the 1135 is terminating in Arklow and the 1448 is starting from Arklow that means either the 1300 ex Rosslare or the 1305 ex Connolly will be held in the station before Arklow as they wont be able to pass at Arklow as normal with the 1448 train waiting there as Arklow siding is not long enough to take a passanger train anymore.

Arklow siding is good for a 2 car railcar set

It can be done just requires the Gorey train to play a game of musical chairs, it just swaps platforms between the arrival of the two Rosslare line trains

Its actually easy

Gorey train simply moves out towards Gorey after the Dublin bound train arrives.

Rosslare train arrives, Dublin train departs, Gorey train returns to the station to now vacant platform

I am tad confused about this. I put in Wicklow to Maynooth on the journey planner and it tells me to take the train at 1540 from Wicklow to Greystones and change for a dart at Greystones and then get off at Tara Street and get a train from Tara Street to Maynooth. Ok but it lists the destination of the train from Wicklow as Maynooth so way am I told to change for a dart? Is this train that is starting at Rathdrum going to Maynooth or not? As a test I put in Wicklow to Connolly and believe it or not I am still being told to change at Greystones despite the fact it is running to Connnoly according to the notice. Being told to get off a perfectly good train to wait an hour for a dart for no reason!

Its possible it only thinks this as the code it is using tells the system the train is going to Maynooth, but it may actually be stopping short.
