Default [October 2010] Changes to many Heuston services

30 minute reduction to early morning Galway Heuston service and 15 minute reduction to early morning Cork Heuston service and many more highlights!

Iarnród Éireann will introduce a number of service alterations to its schedule from 18th October next. These alterations will dramatically improve journey times to a number of services on a number of routes. Customers should be advised that certain trains may have different than previously advertised departure times.


Heuston/Cork/ Tralee Route

The 05:05hrs Cork Heuston will depart 5 minutes earlier at 05:00hrs calling at Mallow at 05:22, Charleville at 05:37, Limerick junction at 05:59, Thurles at 06:20, Templemore at 06:29, Ballybrophy at 06:42, Portlaoise at 07:05, Portarlington at 07:17, Newbridge at 07:37 arriving at Heuston at 08:15.

The 06:30hrs Cork Heuston service will depart 15 minutes earlier at 06:15hrs calling at Mallow at 06:37hrs and Limerick Junction at 07:11 arriving into Heuston at 08:45 an ideal time for those that need to be in Dublin before 09:00.

The 07:30hrs Cork Heuston will now have a faster journey time arriving into Heuston 15 minutes earlier than previously. It will call at Mallow at 07:52, Limerick Junction at 08:27, Thurles at 08:47 arriving at Heuston at 10:05.

The 17:30hrs Cork Heuston service will now also serve Charleville and have altered times for intermediate stations. It will call at Mallow at 17:55, Charleville at 18:14, Limerick Junction at 18:41, Thurles at 19:00, Templemore at 19:08, Ballybrophy at 19:19 and Portlaoise 19:33 arriving at Heuston at 20:22.

The 17:00hrs Heuston Cork will also have a faster journey time and have altered times at stations. This train will no longer serve Thurles. Customers for Thurles will be accommodated on the 17:05 Heuston Tralee service. It will call at Limerick Junction at 18:33, Mallow at 19:05 and Cork at 19:30.

The 05:20hrs Tralee Cork is advanced to 05:15hrs and will operate 5 minutes earlier as far as Mallow calling at Killarney at 05:43, Millstreet at 06:08 arriving at Mallow at 06:33.

The 06:20hrs Cork Tralee service will depart 5 minutes later at 06:25hrs calling at Mallow at 06:48, Banteer at 07:12, Millstreet at 07:23, Rathmore at 07:31, Killarney 07:54, Farranfore at 08:14 arriving at Tralee at 08:29.


Heuston/Waterford/Limerick Junction/Waterford

The 06:10hrs Waterford Heuston service will now depart 10 minutes earlier at 06:00hrs calling at Thomastown at 06:23, Kilkenny at 06:43, Muine Bheag at 06:58, Carlow at 07:10, Athy at 07:23, Kildare at 07:40, Newbridge at 07:48 arriving at Heuston at 08:20. This a reduction in journey time of 1minutes.

The 07:40hrs Waterford Heuston will arrive 10minutes earlier into Heuston calling at Thomastown at 08:03, Kilkenny at 08:23, Muine Bheag at 08:43, Carlow at 08:55, Athy at 09:08 and Kildare at 09:26. This is a reduction in journey time of 10 minutes.

The 18:45hrs Limerick Junction/Waterford service is deferred to 18:50hrs calling at Tipperary at 18:59, Cahir at 19:22, Clonmel at 19:39, Carrick-on-suir at 20:09 arriving at Waterford at 20:30.


Heuston/Limerick/Limerick Junction/Ballybrophy

The 05:35hrs Limerick Dublin Heuston service will depart 5 minutes earlier at 05:30hrs calling at Thurles at 06:12, Templemore at 06:20, Portlaoise at 06:44, Portarlington at 06:56, Monasterevin at 07:03, Kildare at 07:13, Sallins at 07:29, Hazelhatch at 07:38 arriving at Heuston at 07:58

The 06:35hrs Limerick Heuston will depart 5 minutes earlier at 06:30hrs calling at Thurles at 07:12, Templmore at 07:20, Ballybrophy at 07:32, Portlaoise at 07:47 arriving at Dublin Heuston at 08:55.

The 06:55hrs Limerick Limerick Junction service will now depart 15 minutes earlier at 06:40hrs arriving at Limerick junction at 07:08.

The 06:30hrs Limerick Ballybrophy service is advanced to 06:25hrs and will operate 5 minutes earlier as far as Nenagh calling at Castleconnell at 06:46 and Birdhill at 06:59.


Heuston/Galway/Galway/Limerick

The 06:05hrs Galway Heuston service will now depart 30 minutes later at 06:35hrs calling at Athenry at 06:48 and Athlone at 07:25 arriving at Heuston at 08:50 a reduction in journey time of 15minutes. Customers please note: this service will no longer serve Woodlawn and Ballinasloe.

The 07:05hrs Athlone Galway service will depart Athlone at 07:26hrs calling at Ballinasloe at 07:41, Woodlawn at 07:54, Attymon at 08:02, Athenry at 08:13 arriving at Galway at 08:30.

The 06:40hrs Galway Limerick service will have altered times between Galway and Gort. It will now depart Athenry at 06:58, Craughwell at 07:07 and Ardrahan at 07:18.


Heuston/Westport

The 05:15hrs Westport Heuston service will have altered times at intermediate stations. It will call at Castlebar at 05:27, Claremorris at 05:46, Ballyhaunis at 05:58, Castlerea at 06:11, Roscommon at 06:30, Athlone at 06:54, Clara at 07:11, Tullamore at 07:20, Portarlington at 07:39, Monasterevin at 07:46, Kildare at 07:55, Newbridge at 08:02, Hazelhatch at 08:19 arriving at Heuston at 08:38. This is a reduction of 12 minutes on the journey time.


Kildare Commuter

The 06:35hrs Heuston Kildare service will now depart 10 minutes earlier at 06:25hrs calling at Parkwest and Cherry Orchard at 06:32, Clondalkin Fonthill at 06:35, Adamstown at 06:40, Hazelhatch at 06:46, Sallins and Naas at 06:54, Newbridge at 07:03 arriving at Kildare at 07:12.


M3 Parkway/Docklands service

From 18th October all morning and evening peak services will serve Broombridge

These changes are designed to improve journey times at peak intercity travel times for our customers providing an even better service. Further information is available from your local station

Our journey planner is currently being altered to reflect these changes. The changes should be live shortly, once live it will be possible to book online again for the altered services
