Today

There'll be further showers today. Some of the showers will be heavy with the possibility of thundery downpours - which could lead to further spot flooding from late morning and through the afternoon. These heaviest showers are likely to be in the east and south of the country. Elsewhere may see some bright, sunny spells. It'll be a mild day with temperatures of 12 to 14 degrees. Winds will be south or southeasterly, moderate to fresh in strength, with occasional strong, squally gusts - especially in and around showers - but will begin to ease towards evening.
Tonight

There'll be further showers for a time during tonight in the east but they will be less intense in nature and it should become mainly dry towards morning. Temperatures will start to decline from tonight on and lowest temperatures overnight will be between 8 and 10 degrees in the east but a much cooler 3 to 5 degrees in the west of the country. Southerly winds will fall light.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow, Friday, will be a drier, fresher day overall. Scattered showers will still affect all parts but there should be some sunny spells developing between showers. Winds will be mainly light south or southwesterly and temperatures will reach between 11 and 13 degrees.

Outlook

Friday night will see temperatures countrywide drop to between 1 and 3 degrees and there will be frost in places. There will be a few showers at first, mostly confined to western coastal areas, but these will die away through the night and elsewhere will be dry but there will be some pockets of mist or fog likely. Winds will be light westerly as a ridge of high pressure builds over the country. Saturday and Sunday will be dry days with some sunshine. Winds will be mainly light southwesterly but towards the end of Sunday will begin to increase moderate to fresh along western coasts. Temperatures on Saturday will be between 9 and 11 degrees at best with only a slight recovery on Sunday, becoming slowly milder in western areas later, highs on Sunday will be 11 to 14 degrees. Saturday night will be frosty again with temperatures down to 1 to 5 degrees, mildest in the west, but Sunday night will be milder with lows of 4 or 5 degrees in eastern areas, up to 11 degrees in the west. Monday will be a milder day generally as southwesterly winds freshen but most places should stay dry, although there may be some showers or spells of rain in the west and northwest later in the day.
