Talking Dublin Transport Myths and Legends

I'm not sure if this belongs here in Canteen or in the members section. Thought it would be interesting to have a thread that dealt with some of the fairy stories and taxi driver stories, all in the one place, and even for the all knowing to tell us if they are true or not. Feel free to edit or relocate, oh wise ones :

1. Both Luas Lines have different gauges: myth
2. The top two floors of Dublin airport were originally designed as a carpark: ?
3. Contractors offered to build a tunnel big enough for an underground train along the grand canal loop: ?
4. Bertie redirected the new metro so that it would pass near Fagan's pub and St. Lukes so that he could nip home from the Dáil at lunchtime: ?
5. The western rail corridor once had a cheap and regular service: ?
6.
etc..

1 is sorta true, the sandyford line has a different loading gauge out past beechwood. but all trams can run on buth lines.
2 is true.as you walk up the road to departures you can see the two spiral ramps(in and out) to the car park. I think it may be used for staff now
