Talking How to survive on public transport

I just saw a program called "What should you do?" on Reality TV. It had a segment on how to survive your trip on public transport. It had such tips as:

Always minimise your waiting time.
Have change ready so people don't see you funmbling with extra money.
Pay attention to your surroundings.
Do NOT read as your attention is compromised.
Carry Mace.

May favourite was: If gun fire breaks out, hide behind your seat or get on the floor. Not being in the line of fire may increase your chances of surviving.

I had no idea how I took my life into my hands taking the bus every day. Thank God for OTT American fears and their proposed rememdies. At least now I know how to handle myself on the 46A in the mornings.
