Default [04/10/2013] All 5pm services through Connolly delayed

16.50 Connolly to Belfast delayed 40 mins at the moment. 17.13 Pearse to Dundalk held at Connolly to await Enterprise departure.
All northbound Darts, Drogheda and Maynooth trains will be delayed.
So delays inbound this morning, and outbound this evening.
Not a single platform announcement re the delays:-(

Belfast delays are outside of IE control and a signalling failure earlier near Howth on the line.

While yesterday's delay might well be outside Irish Rail's direct control, one could legitimately ask what contingency plans are in place to deal with service disruption, whatever the cause. The standing policy appears to simply let delay to one service propagate to the next regardless of the impact on intending passengers.

In the case of yesterday's 1650, Irish Rail knew hours in advance that the service would be delayed as the incoming train only left Lisburn at 1513.
