Default Not an unusual experience

A nice little story in the Times. This sort of a thing is a bit of an occupational hazard for me as I get the 1905 Sligo train a couple of times a week. Yet we apparently don't need any customer-facing staff on Intercity trains.

and an additional staff member would of did?????

Simple fact is neither an extra staff member could do nothing nor prepared to (rightfully so) as it would be the driver who alerts control to alert the guards.
