Default How Refunds Should Be Handled

The ever customer focused crew up north have revised there refund policy

http://www.translink.co.uk/delayrepay.asp

If delayed by more than 119 minutes, not only do you get a 100% refund on a single ticket but you get the value of a return ticket for that journey

50% refund applies after only 29 minutes!!

Irish Rail of course don't want to talk about copying up north, I asked

At least IÉ offers compensation when connections are missed.

Similar rules are appearing across the UK

If connections are missed there is provision to get passengers to destination, with a commitment to alternative transport if the next onwards train isn't an option

And they supply pre paid envelopes for the refund applications

50% after 30 minutes is the new standard.

I currently have appealed for the second time a refund with Irish Rail (there is a appeals process) if I had been in the UK I would have got 100% no questions
