Default [22-09-08 17:30] DART delays

Gf just called me to she's delayed outside Connolly on a northbound DART which has had a power failure. No info how long it might be. Think they're on the bridge, which is going to delay everything behind it. Realtime system showing everything normal (well, 5 mins late, normal enough) at Connolly.

Dart now gone out of service in Connolly, don't know what knock-on effect there will be, but the 17:54 Connolly to Howth is going to be pretty jammed.

PIS at Pearse is reporting (another) train failure at Killester. Delays up to 20 minutes expected.

There seemed to be complete confusion at Connolly tonight @ 17.30. PIS advising passengers of 20-30 delays due to train failure between Killester + Harmonstown. Suburban driver announced delays at Connolly itself due to DART door failure.
Rang information. Complete waste of time. They knew nothing about the 1st delay, which they then agreed was on all displays.
If you can't get information from the information desk, who can you ring?
Very poor, yet again.
And that was on top of the 20 delay inbound this morning, due to the DART failure North of Howth Junction (not Kilbarrack, as IE were announcing, unless that was a 2nd failure?)
Very bad day of failures all round for IE....

Yep, usual complete headless chickens.

Checked the 'realtime' system for Blackrock 45 minutes after the power failure. Was showing all trains as being on time. Got to station, they announced a ten minute delay. Display then counted down to 1, and went blank. Train eventually arrived 18 minutes late.

But it's OK, cos according to the latest massaged figures 99.6% of DARTs are on time.
