Default [22-01-09 10:00] DART/Commuter services up to 20 minutes late

For the third day in a row, severe delays due to a breakdown of IE equipment.

09:02 Malahide-Greystones had an electrical failure at Pearse.
I was on the 09:11 Howth-Dun Laoghaire behind it, delayed 15 minutes at Tara, went through Pearse on the opposite platform, train was extended to Greystones.
Northbound train were then queued up waiting to get through Pearse.

[edit] Meant to add, in fairness to the driver of our train, for once he made regular announcements every couple of minutes - even if the first 3 of these were while he didn't have a clue what the delay was and was trying to get through to someone to find out. Good to see IR keepi9ng their staff informed as usual.

was on this train. Got on at pearse.
When it pulled up at the station, it stopped short near the ticket collectors, who went over to the driver.
They then went down to the end of the platform and when the train moved off they went down onto the tracks and headed northbound.
One of the passengers on our carriage asked a staffmember what was up, and the staff member replied that the driver had thought he had seen a little girl on the tracks.
Then train eventually goes out of service.

There was an unintelligible announcement at Pearse around 0835 saying that services were disrupted due to a [something] on the tracks.
