Announcement that delay is due to person falling ill on board train at Portmarnock and delay is due to wait for ambulance.

One lady on board seems to be on the phone to IE, asking for the air con to be turned on.

My train, 16.50 ex Bray, is on the move again but will stop at all stations to Drogheda. Driver referenced call from passenger in relation to the heat and advised any passengers who are too warm to disembark and there will be another train within two minutes.

Yeh, got caught out as well on that service. Train was already 10 minutes late departing Connolly. I assume the Malahide DART was only 4 carriages, leading to the delays. And if so, I wonder did one of the passengers on that service collapse due to overcrowding? Note: Only guessing, as I seen this service was really packed during the week.
Finally arrived into Donabate 30 minutes late.
But fair dues to the driver for making announcements. First time in a long time!

Yeah, the information was very good. The driver apologired on behalf of himself and on behalf of Irish Rail.

The only thing I'll say is that it was very difficult to hear the announcement.

Normally I would agree. Where I was, the same carriage as the driver, his accouncements were fine. But I have suffered many times in the past from inaudible announcements, so I know where you are coming from.
Thought it was also interesting when he said:
'Also, the 'regulator' has contacted me. He advised me that a number of passengers had rang control complaining about the heat in the carriage 8. When I checked the guage it indicated a fault in carriage 7+8.
However, I cannot do anything about that....'
Hence he offered to let passengers get off, and wait on the next Dundalk service, which due to all the delays, only ended up 2 minutes behind.

I used to ring Connolly information during unexplained delays. I would always ask them to ring CTC to get the driver to tell the passengers what was going on, but whoever failed to tell whoever, they would never be made.

It was a lady beside the doors in carriage 8. She was much more audible than the announcement. I wonder who she phoned or where she got the number from.

I heard he call alot more clearly than the driver's announcement.
