We know this and have known this for a long time and if I get half a chance next Monday I'll let lose. We managed to get this fact on various radio stations over the last few days. Admittedly the control car has a touch screen train management computer, not the first train in Ireland to have such, and its not needed anyway unless something breaks. The media unfortunately don't like complex details once they knew the control desk was the same they where happy
Irish Rail control access to the train currently and they have hidden this even as far as using computer trickery to CGI out the locomotive in the tv ads. The trains are currently parked to hide the locomotive as well
There is no new intercity train
