Default Bouncers at the Gates

For the past few months, there is a constant morning security presence at the level crossing in Ashtown.

The gatekeeper is escorted by the security brief each time the gate is
closed.

Anyone know the reasons behind this ( or the incident that caused this ) ?

If it so busy, can the gates be automated - like up the road in Clonsilla ?

Thanks

There was an incident the morning the Docklands station opened where a motorist had a face off with the crossing keeper at the gates between Ashtown and Broombridge, it appeared the crossing keeper was assulted in that incident

Does the Gatekeeper have leeway on whether to keep the gates
open or closed when there are a few trains in relative close proximity ?

Some of them seem to be very good at opening the gates, even for
a short time

I had a run in with a gate keeper at Ashtown one afternoon a few months ago. If its the same gatekeeper then he deserves what he got because he behaved like a thug towards me.
