I imagine there is no harm in forming a commuting levy like they have in France where employers pay about 1-2% (depending on region) to fund regional transport projects. Edit: we also had / have the health levy and the training levy and I think one or two more.

They ain't gonna get 50,000 from Carrickfin or Derry I don't agree with southern taxpayers funding the Derry PSO on principle - at the very least NI should have to put up 50% just like Enterprise.

Not sure about Knock. Ballyhaunis is the nearest station for the moment, and it's not exactly across the road.
