Default Iarnród Éireann removing ability to book online on some services

I thought to myself lets book a ticket from Thurles to Waterford for Tuesday. Researching this before they always quoted 35 single something like that now it aint giving prices or the option to book them. Must want the line to shut down.

Maybe it was a temporary problem this morning. Will try it in a second again. All through this morning it was showing the times and had orange squares and no prices. Both ways i changed it do dep Waterford arrive Thurles and it was still like it.

UPDATE yeah its fine now and for Tuesday the 15th (not that much cheaper in advance) weirdly both down and up fares say 24.98 but when you choose them its €42.50 total. excl fee of course

Prices will not be shown if the train involved has already began its journey

Inconsistencies in fares following the revised intercity online fare offer have already been raised with Irish Rail

Cant complain about it been cheaper at the checkout than shown but obviously most of that cost €45.50 is because of the journey you take on the mainline. The Thurles to Limerick junction in terms of the short distance away it is probably one of the highest fare per km in the country so you cant travel there and then try get a cheap fare to Waterford. Actually cheaper just buying a ticket to Limerick €16.50 from Thurles if you needed to get to Limerick Junction. Funnily the fares between €24-32 to Waterford single the lowest €24 fares the journey is really complicated you go Thurles-Kildare, Kildare-Waterford and coming back Waterford-Kildare, Kildare-Portlaoise Portlaoise-Thurles. Makes more sense just to have more trains at the junction to Waterford.
