We have a confirmed report that Heuston Newbridge will be closed from 9pm Saturday 30th September until mid morning Sunday October 1st

The 21:00 Dublin Cork will require a bus transfer to Newbridge and run 30 minutes later thence to Cork
The 21:45 Dublin Kildare is cancelled no bus transfer
The 22:45 Dublin Kildare is cancelled no bus transfer

The 18:20 Wateford Dublin will require a bus transfer from Kildare
The 20:47 Kildare Dublin is cancelled no bus transfer (use bus at 20:33 see Waterford train above)
The 21:15 Thurles Dublin will require a bus transfer from Kildare
The 21:50 Kildare Dublin will require a bus transfer
The 22:50 Kildare Dublin is cancelled no bus transfer

The 8:35 Dublin Tralee has a connecting bus to Newbridge

Due to Engineering Works between Heuston and Hazelhatch the following services will be affected by bus transfers:

Saturday 30th September

21.00 Heuston to Cork will be bus transfers from Heuston to Newbridge and by train from Newbridge to Cork. Train will depart Newbridge at 21.55.

18.20 Waterford to Heuston will operate to Carlow only. Bus transfers will operate from Carlow to Athy, Kildare and Heuston.

18.30 Galway to Heuston will operate to Newbridge only. Bus transfers will operate from Newbridge to Heuston.

18.05 Westport to Heuston will operate to Newbridge only. Bus transfers will operate from Newbridge to Heuston.

19.30 Cork to Heuston will operate to Newbridge only. Bus transfers will operate from Newbridge to Heuston.

21.10 Thurles to Heuston will be bus tansfers from Thurles to Templemore, Ballybrophy, Portlaoise, Portarlington, Kildare, Newbridge, Sallins, Hazelhatch and Heuston.

Sunday 1st October 2006

08.35 Heuston to Tralee will be bus transfers from Heuston to Newbridge. Train will depart Newbridge at 09.25.

08.45 Heuston to Galway will be bus transfers from Heuston to Newbridge. Train will depart Newbridge at 09.55.

09.40 Heuston to Waterford will be bus transfers from Heuston to Newbridge, Kildare Athy and Carlow. Train will depart Carlow at 11.35.

No mention of the fact that 2 , usually, busy Kildare (ex Heuston) locals on a saturday night (21.45 & 22. 45) are cancelled. Obviously IE think its covered by the equally busy BE sevices at 21.30 & 23.00.

What customer service dictated railway, issues a press release about cancellations and omits some services? What does it say about the particular rail operator? How many Kildare people will show up for the 2 cancelled trains and get stuck?
