Default [20-10-2008] Disruption to Galway and Westport services

20th October 2008 - 19.00hrs

All Intercity services between Dublin and Athlone, Galway and Westport are facing significant disruption this evening due to an incident on the line between Geashill and Tullamore.

Emergency services are attending the incident, in which the 17.10hrs Heuston to Athlone service struck and fatally injured a person on the line.

The following services will be delayed:

- 17.45hrs Heuston-Westport

- 17.50hrs Heuston-Galway

- 19.15hrs Heuston-Galway

There is also the possibility of disruption to:

- 18.05hrs Galway-Heuston

- 18.05hrs Westport-Heuston

The line will remain closed while the emergency services attend the scene.

Iarnród Éireann apologises for the inconvenience caused.

Damn beat me

Curiously a very clear and informative notice, quite unlike anything you normally see from Irish Rail

Of course the folks heading for Drogheda are being told nothing currently

The galway real-time status seems to be fairly optimistic or is this down to padding?

Think that should've said via Drogheda

although it does stop at Drogheda
