[19/04/2010] Services suspended Northern Line / Malahide DART - RESUMED, SOME DELAYS
there are no services north of howth junction [northern line/malahide dart]
this is due to a breakdown at portmarnock. Dublin bus accepting rail tickets on relevant routes There are also delays to northbound services due to a backlog of trains at howth junction Last edited by ThomasJ : 19-04-2010 at 17:07. |

Major problems at Howth Junction large numbers waiting for onwards to travel northwards
Consider bus option

Entitled to a refund
Passengers on the 17.04 Dun laoghaire to Drogheda service will be entitled to a refund under the passenger charter, as delay was over 1 hour. Don't mind the Irish Rail announcements of 25 -45 minute delays. It went over to hour, so make sure you claim!
Also, at 18.50 the failed Tara Mines freight train had not be pulled into a siding, but was sitting with a locomotive at both ends on the southbound platform. This was obviously a significant contributor to delays. The 18.15 arrival from Belfast into Connolly was now not due to 19.40 at the earliest. Combination of reasons!

Something loud and screechy went by Clongriffin at 1945. I'm not sure if that was the Tara Mines train or the Enterprise.

When I passed through Connolly half an hour ago they were saying that services were back but delayed up to 45 minutes.

Most services more or less normal. 20:10 - Belfast Central to Dublin Connolly Enterprise is currently about 20 minutes late.
